Way back when my accident happened, and I was in the hospital; they had this thing that allowed me to stand for a little while. It was pretty cool. I found a new great resource of a web-site, called www. spinlife.com They have these " stand up hoyers". Does anyone have one of these? Do you use it? And do you like it? How can I get Medicare to cover one, because I would love to get one, but it's not in the budget. : )

Dear DesignForward:
I'm not the kind of guy to be too preachy. My long and sordid tale is too much to post here. I, like most of us have been through alot. My tale includes three years in the hospital and several near death experiences. I've learned something through all of that. Please take this for what it's worth.
Trust Him with Your Dreams ~
Jesus said: "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels a plentiful harvest of new lives." ~ John 12:24, NLT
A Meditation:
It's good to be passionate about your dreams, but did you know a dream can become an idol? If that's all you think about and you're not going to be happy unless it happens your way, that's out of balance. The fact is, sometimes you have to put that dream on the altar. Are you frustrated because you're trying to force things to happen on your timetable? Sometimes we hold on to things so tightly, but actually, when we let them go, that's when God can bring them to pass. If you'll release that frustration and not let it become the center of your attention, but instead use that same time and energy to thank God that He's directing your steps, you open the door for God to give you the desires of your heart. We have to remember, God already knows what we want and what we are in need of. He's the One who put those desires in us. We shouldn't be consumed by trying to make things happen. Instead, a greater act of faith is to be happy right where you are; to stay open and trust God because He has good plans in store for your future!
A Prayer:
Father God, today I release my dreams, my desires, my "wants" like a seed falling to the ground. I know that You have a good plan for my future, and I trust You to bring it to pass in my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

I believe that you are referring to what is called a "stander." My doctor tells me that I should stand up for a least an hour three times a week but I find it boring even though it is good for your legs and posture. I was able to get one through my insurance at work plus I had a really good therapist that could write well. I was using it for a hpur every day but I got lazy. Now that I think about it I aslo felt better when used it so thanks for reminding me I guess I'll start going up on it again. |

ROBIN;
I want you to be aware that, IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM, does my desire for information on a product or the fact that I am an intelligent woman, doing her homework on a product, make this "stand up hoyer" become an idol. Also, how you perceived my post, as me being frustrated, is beyond me. I want to tell you this as a regular Church attending, Sunday School teaching Christian woman myself, whose parents, met at Life Bible College, in LA, AND a woman who every one of her uncles, is a Four Square Minister. In fact, my uncle Mark, is the HEAD of the Western Region/Division of the Four Square Church. With over 250 saved Christians in my families history, I think you will agree that I was raised in a good Christian environment. Am I right? I want you to understand that this is a piece of equipment used in physical therapy, for posture and circulation. It will just improve my overall health. I want to tell you something, and I hope it doesn't offend you, and you take it to heart. OK? OK. It is people like you, that turn people off of religion. God Bless you, because, I know your heart is in the right place, and you mean well, but you'll be doing The Lord a favor, if you take it down a couple of notches. The Bible teaches us to "plant seeds", not shove them down someones throat.
God Bless you,
Michelle :>) |

So you're a new quad -- welcome to Purgatory. Well, not entirely, but for a while perhaps. It's pretty rough, huh? It was for me. Life can get better, though, depending on what you do from this moment on. |
