This is cuz NO ONE will see me with my insurance...aka...Medicare-MediCal..so every week I go to the ER...this week alone I got bils for $15,583 for 2.5 days in the hospital for uti/cellulitis...$973 for utim $1400 for uti...I am now antibiotic resistant to Everything...save VANCOMYACIN VIA IV ONLY and perhaps 2010 i'll get VRE RESISTANT ENTERROCOCCUS and then be totally screwed..i'm only 34...should I write a will now?
Thanks,
k

I was having UTIs so much that my doctor warned me that I'd become immune to the antibiotics. So, thank the Lord, that before that happened, I found this natural product, that is AWESOME. You get it online at www.nativeremedies.com . It is called " UTI clear". Buy that, and also buy AZO Test Strips for UTI. (I get mine at the grocery store) Every month when I change my catheter I do a test strip. That way my cath is clean, and it is an easy way to remember, and I can catch it before it gets really bad. I do all this at my 1st cath change of the month, which for me is the 1st of the month. If it comes up that you have one, immediately start your UTI Clear. Knock on wood, but since I've been doing this regiment, I have only had one, which the UTI CLEAR got rid of, AND it's been over 3 years!! YEAH!!! : ) Hope this helps you! : )

Kel, i've felt your irritation for others and yourself on here. These UTIs make you miserable. I've been there. It's a scary thought, but you're most likely reaching the end of the rope with the UTIs. Antibiotic resistence is so dangerous. I reached the same about about 4 years ago. You've got bite the bullet and take conrol. I know your schooling is important to you, but your health has got to come first. Find a urologist, and not just any urologist, you need one that specializes in sci patients. These guys know things the typical urologists don't. I wish so badly you lived close to Birmingham, AL. My dr, at Spain Rehab, has literally saved my life. Dr. Lloyd has me irrigating my bladder twice a day with a neosporin solution. I tried all those all natural things, and they never came through. Now, with the irrigating, infections that require antibiotics are rare, maybe once a year, and no more antibiotic resistence. I'd like to help you do whatever I can, including finding a dr. You just got to do something different and you know it. You're a tough girl. I can tell from your posts. Facebook me, Melinda Rooberts in Red Bay, AL.

There lays the problem. I'm still in LA for dr's appts n stuff while on break for school. I saw THE SCI UROLOGIST that EVERYONE out here sees. He tried to toss me some CIPRO and said LATER. I said thanks a mil dude....cipro causes me to have seizures as I take zanaflex which is a major-major drug interaction. I had to learn that one the hard way when I had a seizure last year cuz of it. The other problem is I always test healthy when in LA. I do have a primary doc who is a PMR and SCI specialty and even she is at a loss as to what to do with me. I got hurt back in '04, spent most of '05 in the ICU with what else but drug-drug interactions since I had crappy ass MediCal insurance then. Now I have medi-medi which is WORSE than straight medi-cal in CA. Anyway I'm meeting with the Dean at school next week to see if I can't finish school via independent study arrangement so I can relocate to San Diego where there are a ton of sci resources. Monterey is no good for me since I'm in the ER seemingly on a weekly basis there. However, I do not have any other accessible housing in place. I HATE LA cuz of the morons and their road rage and there are too many people here! I have housing secured at school until May assumming I stay this spring semester. That's all she wrote...
Thanks,
k :)
